Smallholder farmers practices of crops livestock integration in the district of Aguié (Niger): Agricultural production and livestock feed

Crop production and livestock are main economic activities of most populations in Maradi region. The objective this work is to study agricultural feeding terms farming practices crops integration 4 villages Aguié. results surveys randomly conducted on a sample 78 farmers showed that were categorized into two groups, which (67%) agro-pastoralists (33%). However, the multivariate analysis data highlighted existence three categories agro-pastoralist farmers, distinct their means levels integration. It was counted 21% population who have plows seeders, while 51% carts. According distribution oxen farms, proportion small farms no draft oxen, 45% 3 % pair 1 has five (5) oxen. Cereal Kg 862 ± 419 for Small Farms (SF); 1008 132.7 Medium (MF) 5748 4068 Big (BF). As (Kg) legumes; SF produce average 293 ±139.3, MF 452 123.7 BF 991 208.5. Despite fodder available 2,227.5 0.58 TLU SF; 2,441.1 1.63 at level 4,414.5 3.03 TLU, balance deficit all according requirement (Kg/270 days).
